Indie Biz: Official Supporter Of Movember

Movember Moustache Jewellery

After donating to Movember in a number of small ways in the past I am so, so excited to be an official supporter of the charity this year. You can now buy any moustache products from my official store or my Etsy store and 25% of the sale will be donated to Movember UK. Not only that, but you can then wear your moustaches during November to help our fellow Mo Bros raise awareness for the cause.

Mo Sistas, you have no excuses not to get involved! Don’t forget to tell people why you’re wearing your Mo, where you got it from and how they can take part too!

I feel like I’ve announced this a million times with Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and adding some information to all my new and existing product listings, but I’m still not bored of it! I’m so proud to be supporting Movember UK in an official capacity with my business, chatting with Movember about how we could work together to benefit the charity and ultimately them being happy to endorse me as an official supporter. It’s just like a great big hug! Thanks Movember, I hope I can do you proud.

Movember Moustache Jewellery

I’ve designed some brand new moustaches that you won’t be able to get anywhere else including a super fun sugar skull inspired tash! I wanted to give you a reason to fall back in love with moustaches and add to your collections instead of pushing out the same designs year after year.

It’s really got me excited to work with charities more in the future and design whole collections exclusively for them. Every time I take a step forward I come across a million more doors I could open, I just adore my job so so much. If you’re a charity and you’re interested in working together, do pop me an email. I’d be delighted to hear from you.

Now go forth and spread the word about Movember & Onetenzeroseven, let’s work together to change the face of men’s health! I’d love it if you could share this project on your blogs and social media. Let me know if you do and I’ll be sure to share each and every one! Thank you!

Outfit Post: Dressember, Week One

How to wear red differently

Outfit 1: Vintage Dress  //  Polo Neck Jumper | French Connection  //  Leggings | Next  //  Boots | Debenhams || Outfit 2: Vintage Dress  //  Floral Blouse | New Look  //  Black Tights

This month I decided I’d like to take part in Dressember. I’ve liked the idea of a style challenge for a while now and wearing a dress every day in December seemed like a fun idea. Dressember was set up in 2009 as a simple style challenge, bringing together women across the world to celebrate femininity, but it grew into something much grander and now helps to raise money and awareness for the International Justice Mission. IJM is a human rights organisation that works to rescue victims of slavery, sexual exploitation, and other forms of violent oppression.

Outfit 3: Vintage Dress  //  Dress (layered underneath) | Happie Loves It  //  Cardigan | Aerie  //  Statement Necklace  //  Brown Leggings  //  Scarf  //  Boots | H by Hudson || Outfit 4: Vintage Dress  //  Checked Shirt | H&M  //  Denim Leggings | Dorothy Perkins  //  Boots | Red or Dead

I also wanted to add a bit of a twist to my personal challenge. While we’re doing good to celebrate femininity and support human rights I also wanted to put across my point of view that this age of ‘throwaway fashion’ isn’t as great as  people make out. I don’t want to spend pennies on a dress that has been mass produced in an unsafe factory in Bangladesh, only to wear it once and repeat the process. I still think there is beauty in fashion.. an art form in wearing. So instead of just wearing a dress every day in December, I have chosen just four dresses and I will wear each one every day for a week. To work in, to go to gigs in, to meet friends for coffee in. I want to prove that you can wear a dress endless different ways and make it feel like a new outfit each time. Lets end throwaway fashion too!

Outfit 5: Vintage Dress  //  Dress (layered underneath) | Forever 21  //  Navy Tights  //  Cardigan  | French Connection  //  Necklace | French Connection  //  Boots | Dorothy Perkins || Outfit 6: Vintage Dress  //  Floral Top | Ark  //  Belt | Mango  //  Black Cardigan  //  Black Tights  //  Boots | Debenhams

Last week I walked my dog in the park, I helped out at my family’s business, I did some work around the house, I worked on my handmade jewellery range and took a big bag of parcels to the post box, I went to a meeting in the city, I watched a late night showing of Gremlins at the local indie picture house and I went for a lovely meal with Boyfriend for date night. Each time I wore the same vintage knitted red dress that I bought from the Vintage Kilo Sale at Leeds Trinity Church. It was so much fun to show off how awesome my new-old dress is and I surprised myself at how many things in my existing wardrobe actually went with this one dress!
