Outfit Post: How To Wear Denim Shorts

How To Wear Black and White

A variation of this outfit has been my Summer staple – it’s so cool and comfortable, without accidentally showing something I’d rather not – I’m always the girl who’s skirt blows up at the most innappropriate time!

I never know what on earth to wear when it’s so warm, I don’t like wearing short shorts with bare legs and I always feel uncomfortable in tight fitting clothes. I used to think tights with shorts was an oxymoron, but I really understand it’s appeal these days. I prefer to wear tights in Summer now as it stops by legs for sticking together and sweating as much, not to mention avoiding that horrible chafing! I definitely think this is how to wear denim shorts from now on.

How To Wear Mint Green

This cardigan from Marks & Spencers is way more beautiful than it even looks in these photos, it’s so delicate with such a soft mint colour against the creamy off white trim. I shouldn’t really have been buying clothes at the time, but there are some pieces that you just can’t resist. I’m looking forward to styling it up with a lot of different things. There’s only a few left of this colour now, so be quick, but it’s also available in white.

Teapot Necklace, Handmade

Handmade Cactus Earrings

I’ve been trying out this longer length necklace for the past few weeks and I really like how it hangs and the way it lengthens the body by drawing the eye right down. I’ll be adding it to my shop soon as a second necklace length to the standard I currently offer.
I’m also gearing up to release my brand new collection – Cacti! Here’s a sneaky peek of my teeny cactus earrings. I say teeny because they’re some of the smallest I do, but I often get comments that they’re larger than people are expecting. So I’ll be adding lots more shots of earrings modelled to my shops too!

Outfit Post: Fun Fifties Style Circle Skirt

Lindy Bop Outfit Post

Sales are a great chance to try a new brand or a new style and I did both with this amazing circle skirt from Lindy Bop, which was £15 in the sale. My friend, J, has told me about Lindy Bop a few times. We worked together at French Connection and she was one of the first gals I met and pretty much adopted me there and then as a newbie in store. J has always been ridiculously stylish so I’ve finally taken her advice with this outfit and one I’ve got coming up to share with you guys. I’m so pleased I’ve finally tried out Lindy Bop’s fun fifties style clothes. I couldn’t believe the quality for £15 and will happily pay full price next time.

I ordered a size 14 skirt which ended up being a great fit. I’m a pretty standard size 14 on my bottom half, with quite a slim waist and the waistband was definitely created with my shape in mind. I teamed it up with a loose fitting t-shirt that slouches nicely when tucked in. I haven’t worn such a fancy skirt for a long, long time, but I had so much fun swishing about in it and I loved how it floated when I walked down stairs… of course I couldn’t resist some twirling either, look at the span in the second picture(!) it’s what skirt dreams are made of.

There isn’t much left in the sale now unfortunately, but you still might be able to grab something. If not, keep your eye out for the next one or even save up some extra pennies for full price – it’s definitely worth it! Loves x xx
