Outfit Post: Black, White and Mustard

Mustard&Black_002

I’m totally going for comfort with my style these days – it’s great to make fashion so easy and reliable when you’re feeling pressures elsewhere. Feeling happy in yourself is a sure fire boost for your self-motivation. So at the moment I’m reaching for slouchy cardigans and loose dresses and I can’t wait for Autumn to roll round so I can layer up those adorable knitted tights and boots too!

Mustard Black and White

I’m so excited to be wearing a piece from Adventures and Tea Parties in an outfit post; Jo has become a very dear friend of mine and is definitely partially responsible for me not losing my mind on those days when I’m convinced I can’t make my business work. Her shop is full of beautifully handmade, fabric pieces and I chose this necklace because I really wanted to team up some black and white outfits with mustard accessories. I’ve worn the necklace with tonnes of variations of black, white and mustard and this just happens to be the first one we snapped!

Outfit Post: Fifties Fiesta

Fifties Style, Rockabilly, Swimsuit

It feels slightly strange to be posting these while I’m snuggled on the sofa in my cardi’ with my hottie, but for those going on a ‘winter sun’ holiday they might give you some ideas. I really wanted to get one of these gorgeous swimsuits from ModCloth but, with my impending dive into freelance mere weeks away, I decided I needed to be more careful with my money so I opted for this fifties style swimsuit from George at ASDA. I’ve always thought that their underwear fit my shape really well for the price and this costume was no exception, so I wasn’t too disappointed I chose the cheaper option.

Fifties, Rockabilly Style Swimsuit

I’m not a big swimwear fan – I don’t like beach holidays and I spend the entire time feeling very self conscious so it’s been rather an exercise in confidence to firstly pose for these photos by the pool (in front of people, argh!) and then actually publish them for all you lovely folk to see. Opting for this Rockabilly style is a great way to dress for the beach while still feeling fun instead of exposed. It’s super easy; just go for polka dot or gingham check patterns and a mismatch of black, red, blue and white. Cherry and apple prints work well too! Of course I don’t recommend the jewellery for sunbathing if you want to avoid a weird tan ;) but it’s fine for going out for breakfast!
