About Onetenzeroseven

Yorkshire Fashion Blogger, Travel Blogger, Home Renovations & Handmade

Hey folks, I’m Sophie! I’m an almost thirty, tea-loving Yorkshire lass living in Leeds with my musician boyfriend and my rescue dog in our first owned home. I work from my home studio as a freelance designer & content creator and all the things that I think will make you smile are hand drawn into graphics and turned into jewellery pieces for you to wear. Shop now or work with me.

I love handmade, anything with a story, old furniture, dusty records, faded books. I love without reserve and I am still that little girl at heart, who fell asleep in her new coat, hat, gloves and wellington boots because she loved them so much.

I try my best to use only cruelty free products and buy from ethical brands, but of course no one is perfect! I’d much rather DIY than buy. I love to travel, but beach holidays and fancy food are not my thing. Give me a cityscape and a great pizza to make my heart happy. I always have a camera or two in tow, headphones on and sketchbook in hand.

I started writing many moons ago, sharing my personal thoughts on journalling sites. I have always had such a fondness for the internet, meeting friends online and in real life that share in my love for all the things. Let’s be friends?!

Mostly I share my travels from city to city in the UK and further afield, how to make the most of beach destinations and great places to eat. My favourite place in the world is New York City… so far! I have just bought my first house which is a massive renovation project so I will be sharing lots of in progress stories and ideas. I love clothes so so much and don’t often like to wear the same outfit twice so there will be lots of mix and matching of my favourite pieces that makes up my personal style.

My greatest achievement is starting my own business and you might see some tips pop up from time to time as I share my journey with you. I’ll pop the kettle on!

Do you get paid to write about people?

Sometimes. Anything featured on my blog that has been provided for review or to be featured in an outfit post will be marked with a c/o followed by the brand.

If I have been paid to write about a company, or to feature a link, I will let you know in the sentence before any link is placed (such as “*insert brand* have asked me to share this with you”).
All content and opinions are wholly my own and I never accept payment in exchange for a positive review.

My blog is also part of a small no. of affiliate programs so if you click on my links marked with a * and make a purchase the brand might pass on a few pennies to me.

Accepting payment in exchange for a feature on my blog is how I am able to keep providing free content for you to browse read and learn from. If you want to ask me anything, please feel free to email me.

Can I send you something to review?

I will consider any items or services for review on request, but please be aware that I may decline based on either my ethical beliefs or because I don’t think the item/brand fits in with my style. I only accept items for outfit posts that I would actually wear or think would look awesome styled with something I already own. Dressing up is so much fun for me!! I also review and write about products that are related to running a small business, photography, travel, pet care, home decor & renovation – anything that is part of my life. If you would like to request a review, please email me at

Are you available for press trips?

I am a full time freelance design & content creator so my flexible lifestyle enables me to be available at short notice to take a trip to try out your brand or on behalf of your brand. I offer blog coverage, video content or freelance content creation for your website. Please see my portfolio for more information or email me for availability.

Who takes your outfit photos?

I am very lucky that my boyfriend will take outfit photos for me. Having his support is really integral to me featuring my daily outfits as I suffer from (hideous!) self esteem issues. Without his encouragement, I’m not sure I’d have the guts to post so many photos of myself here on my blog.. I rarely take photos myself on a timer, but it’s something I’d like to practice to build up my confidence.

Can I post your Photographs/Recipes/DIYs on my own blog?

You may share a small part of any of my work, ideas and findings on any of your personal or business social channels as long as you follow these simple rules:

Never repost an entire article in full. You may publish an excerpt and link back to my blog for the rest of the content.

Never change any part of the work without my permission

Never claim the work as your own

Never use the work to make money – e.g you can’t use my tutorials to make products to sell.

Always credit my blog when posting it’s content elsewhere. You can do so by including a text link to the source or by using a button.

What camera do you use?

I have a Nikon D3000, affectionately named Smiley. Naming inanimate objects FTW. I also have a Nikon D5200 and a GoPro Hero 4 Silver for video. I have three lenses: The 18-55mm kit lens, a 55-200mm telephoto lens and a 35mm prime lens. I also use my iPhone.

Can you tell me how to make your jewellery pieces or where you buy your supplies?

I will help and offer advice where I can so you can email me at, but please realise this is my business. A girl has got to have some secrets ;)

Where do you buy your clothes?

I try as hard as possible to support independent boutiques and designers or make items myself. I hate walking down the street and seeing someone wearing my dress, so I try hard not to shop at high street stores with such a massive production run of the same item. However as a young, independent designer myself it’s difficult to afford to keep this up. I mostly shop online in the sales (I’m signed up to tonnes of mailing lists so I get emails when sales go live or for preview sales) or pop on eBay and get something second hand. If I do buy from the ‘Big Names’ on the high street I enjoy the challenge of making the outfit look different to anyone else’s. All outfit posts will contain information on where I bought each item I am wearing, including links where possible.

What is your job?

I’m a designer and content creator. I design and make a collection of handmade jewellery, stationery and home wares that I sell online. I also offer wholesale prices starting from £2.15 for a minimum order of £100. I write for a number of online publications, creating blog content and original photography for their brands as well as creating content here at Onetenzeroseven. I have occasionally dabbled in product photography to quench my love for styling photos!

I love your hair, is it real?

Haha, yes I actually get asked that! Of course not, I am a fake red head. Guilty! I dye my hair at home with Superdrug’s Colour Vibrance in Ravishing Red. It’s also cruelty free.

What kind of dog do you have?

Frank is a rescue dog we adopted from the Dog’s Trust, a charity and animal shelter that I would highly recommend for either adopting a pet or offering your support to. He’s a whippet cross-breed and is about 10 years old. He has doggy anxiety and gets way too excited!

Can we hear your boyfriend’s music?

Yes, please do! Stu plays bass guitar in Leeds’ prog rock band, Monster Killed By Laser. He also offers freelance music services so pop over and follow him on Twitter if you need a great musician!
