Fun & Frolics in Hebden Bridge

Hebden Bridge Train Station
Last week I packed my iPhone and my DSLR and jetted off on a little blogger trip to Hebden Bridge with Lisa from Mathilde Heart Manech as my tour guide! The town is gorgeous from the immediate welcoming of the train station to the streets and gorgeous gifts housed in the kooky shops.

It was lovely to take an afternoon off from the stresses of working at home (and the inevitable looming housework… working from home problems!) and spend some time with some human interaction. Getting out to a new place is a great way to refresh the mind and come back to work with a new perspective. You’d be surprised at how many hidden gems are just a short train ride away.

Lisa and I had lunch at a cute candy coloured cafe (any place that serves Fentimans is a win for me!) called The Deli and then wandered along, in and out of pretty shops bursting with beautiful independent design. If you’re a crafty soul like me, I highly recommend a trip. Lisa took me to a great little foodie shop where I found Mojo sauces that I fell in love with in the Canary Islands and the most gorgeous array of cheeses you ever did see, sadly it wasn’t a Thursday because that’s when they hold lots of cheesy offers! They even had a bottle of wine with a roller girl on the label, perfect for Lisa’s new hobby!

Graffiti in Hebden Bridge
It was so inspiring to hang out in a place where every angle could make a great photograph or become an unusual backdrop; There was even a huge graffiti wall opposite the skate park that was more of a work of art than an eyesore. On the way back to the station we passed by The Crafty Snail Studio where they run workshops on a canal boat. Next time I visit, I definitely want to drop in.

Make sure you go on a Cheese Thursday!
