Health & Happiness: Choosing New Glasses!

Online Glasses Trial

I didn’t start wearing glasses until I was 14. I was already geeky and bullied, so it was a bit of a concern to need specs. I tried contact lenses but I found them scratchy and irritating so I only ever wore them for special occasions when I was young. I found my old glasses at home over Christmas and dear Lord, they were ugly. Haha!

Funnily enough I was asked recently if I would have laser eye surgery now and I said no; I actually love having an extra accessory! The last couple of times I’ve needed new glasses I’ve bought two pairs, not because I wanted a spare in case one broke, but because I wanted a second colour to match with my outfits. Thankfully these days wearing glasses is much cooler than it was when I was at school, meaning there are so many more styles and colours and fun shapes to choose from.

When Specspost asked me if I’d like to trial some glasses from their new colour collection my little eyes popped out of my head – have you seen all those colours!? And if that’s not awesome enough, look at the prices, they are totally affordable to have one for every day of the week and every colour scarf I own!

Choosing New Glasses

// When choosing new glasses, as much as it’s important to end up with something you like, I think the most important thing is to choose a style that suits your face. The easiest thing I’ve found is to head to a glasses store and try on different shaped frames. Even better if you can also take along a very honest friend!
!! Remember you don’t have to feel pressured into buying anything there and then, get a feel for the styles and make a mental note of which ones suit you.

// If you’re looking to buy more than one pair, that’s where you can get adventurous. I like to pick at least one standard pair and then one pair that’s a little bit more fun so I always have one to suit my moods!

// A lot of glasses brands also sell online these days so it can be tricky to know what to choose without trying them on. Make sure you shop around to find places like Specspost where you can still do that, but in the comfort of your home!

I selected these because I was trying to go for something a bit different, but even though without a doubt I would pick the mint colour way over anything else usually, I just don’t think they suit my face. I’m leaning a little more towards red, but what do you think? I need you guys to me my honest friend today!!

Welcome, 2015.

Day to Night Outfit

Happy New Year folks! I hope you saw in 2015 with all the people you love.

I’m looking forward to this year. Looking back, last year seems to have been a bit of a dud; There wasn’t much to write home about, I didn’t see a lot of friends and my life became home to a whole lot of heartache and upheaval. I don’t think back to 2014 with many warm memories, but I think it was a massive transitional period for me and without it I wouldn’t be so set towards a great year like I feel I am.

What I’ve noticed around the internet this year isn’t the people declaring a fresh start for 2015, it’s the people giving those a hard time for it. I’ve seen a lot of pointing & laughing and rolling their eyes at fitness declarations, health kicks and new starts. What I don’t understand is why? If you want to make changes in your life, you should feel free to take whatever motivation works for you. If it’s the new year, then you go Glen Coco!

I love the idea of starting the year being fully self employed with nothing hanging over me and finally getting the chance to make my dreams a reality. I’m looking forward to finishing overcoming my health issues and finding some relaxation. Everything seems to have come to a head to make this a year to really progress on that huge, seemingly unobtainable until now, concept of happiness. I feel optimistic about 2015 and I don’t care who thinks I’m a fool because of it, I’m going to jump at this chance to make the changes I want to see in my life. I reckon I’d be a fool not to.
