Offcuts: I Left My Heart in New York City

New York Skyline

Three years since my last trip to New York, my adopted home, where I left my heart. A lot of people say, “At least you’ve been!” and my response is always, “well you don’t know what you’re missing.” I don’t know if living there would be the right choice for me… because then where would my New York be? But someday I want to spend a few months there, sketching, making, exploring while Boyfriend makes some music. Until then, though, I need a refresher! Three years is too long!

Last time we went Autumn was turning and the weather was absolutely stunning! Look at that blue sky behind Citifield, creating a stunning backdrop to the red brick of my team’s homeland. The sun was low in the sky casting the most beautiful glow, such a contrast to the blustery, damp Autumns of England. Take me back…

I totally know how you feel. New York changed me too, it’s just the energy of the place – you can’t help being inspired! I LOVE your photos!

I went to New York last year with my mam for my 18th birthday :D I knew that I would love it and always knew I would want to live there. Feels like so much longer than a year I am dying to go back! I was only there for three days – not enough time to get absorbed into it! xo
