I wore this outfit last weekend for one of the greatest days of the year, so far; Boyfriend and I travelled to Manchester to the very first 6 Music Festival where I worked my vast gig attending experience to get us to the front for Midlake and Damon Albarn. In the afternoon we went to Almost Famous burgers, where we felt they really didn’t live up to the hype …they were OK. I’ve had better. We stayed over in Salford so we could have a relaxed evening with a few drinks and then stumble the 20 minutes back to the hotel. The following day we grabbed (much better!) food and more booze at our favourite Manchester venue – Night & Day cafe, bought a handful of records and had a venture through the famous vintage emporium of Afflecks before passing out on the train home full of the good things in life.
I’ve been looking for some boots like this for a while, but sadly I’m on a tight budget these days and boots are an expensive vice. Luckily Shoe Zone dropped by and asked if I’d like to try a pair of theirs and I found the perfect ones for gigging in these faux fur trimmed lace-ups. They have a great sized heel which is just right for stomping along to music and also does those things to ladies’ legs that we all worship heels for, yet they’re still super comfortable and practical …and under £23! I would never have thought of Shoe Zone for affordable boots, but I’ve already been recommending them to my friends.
My necklace is from Black Willow Jewelry and I’ve been wearing it to death since Mama Oneten spoiled me with it for Christmas. It’s been on my wish list for an age (along with the rest of the collection!) and I think it really adds something to this quite casual, slouchy outfit, while the leather-look leggings make it a bit more dressy and a bit less lounge-y. Being comfortable at a gig is so important, especially when you’re hanging around for 5+ hours, but I like having the little extras that still make me feel like I’m getting dressed up.
