The Wonders of 2012; A Year in Review

JANUARY | Minaret treat us to their first gig in three years. Endless friends gather at a local pub while the band soundcheck. One of the best days of the year.
FEBRUARY | Exactly a year since my very first jewellery sale I have 220 sales on Etsy alone. Hundreds of pairs of earrings made. Lots of friendships formed, so many things learned.
MARCH | My oldest friend in the world gets married. I am bridesmaid alongside a loved school friend and a lovely new friend. I become a smidgen less cynical ;)

APRIL | I join notonthehighstreet.com as a new seller. I have no idea how amazing this is going to be for my business.
MAY | I go on tour with my girlies to visit sweet old friends and meet some awesome new ones. I see the sea for the first time in years. I discover Young Hines‘ music which will become the soundtrack to my year.
JUNE | My sort-of Step Brother and his family visit from the USA and I meet my brand new sort-of Step Nephew, Ben. I’m not usually crazy about babies, but he’s a total dude.

JULY | I take part in a fashion show with my family business’ label, Tweed & Country. It’s a great success and a lot of fun for standing in a muddy field!
AUGUST | I head to London with Boyfriend to see Blur in Hyde Park for part of the Olympics Closing Ceremony. I meet my bestest Etsy friend, Bex from Rebecca’s Emporium, for the first time in real life(!). Friends come from far and wide for our Mexican themed party. I get to hang out with a friend from the US and see him play with The Shins. I finally get to see one of my favourite bands live and in my own city too! August was a great month!
SEPTEMBER | I reveal my gorgeous new logo which takes my lil’ jewellery shop from hobby to serious business. I take a break and visit my Dad’s apartment in Cyprus with my Dad, Step Mum, Big Brother and Boyfriend and go parasailing!!

OCTOBER | Boyfriend and I celebrate our epic five year anniversary :)) I am asked to be featured in two craft magazines.
NOVEMBER | I get an unexpected visit from a very old friend from the US. We meet for the first time, despite knowing each other for 5 years. I write my very first guest blog post. I get spoiled for my birthday.
DECEMBER | My wee indie business takes off in ways I never could have imagined. I am overwhelmed. I am able to treat my family to special gifts for Christmas for the first time. I hope they know how much they mean to me <3

I hope you have a wonderful new year folks! Thanks for joining me in 2012 and I’ll see you all in 2013! Loves x xx

Life Lately; Christmas in Instagrams

O Christmas Tree | Festive Gift Wrap | Present Aftermath | Gloomy Train | Family Time | Terrible Train Tea | Home for Christmas | Spoiled | Skullcandy!

An unexpected blogging hiatus there for me. I was planning on getting creative with some blog posts over the Christmas period, but instead as soon as I left here on Saturday to see Boyfriend’s family I shut down and didn’t wake up again until yesterday. Call it burn out or exhaustion or call it Christmas with The Family ;) but taking a break was really good for me.

The holidays were a quiet affair this year, but full of lots of visits and too many presents! While Boyfriend spent some time alone with his family I had my Jeff Jeff round for Christmas tea and minty Baileys while we opened our presents, then I followed him up for a mini Christmas where we spent some much needed time sitting and watching movies. Next stop was Mummy Oneten’s. The present filled tree was pretty overwhelming and while Mum thought it was “disgusting” that we all had so many presents, instead it made me feel lucky and loved that we’d all obviously had so much fun shopping for gifts for each other.

I was very much spoiled rotten. Boyfriend got me some Skullcandy headphones which I’m yet to try, but excited to have some decent ones. I can’t stand having those earbuds in my ears! (Plus, SKULLS!) I also got some skull embroidered pumps and some awesome floral Doc Martens as well as so many books I cannot even. I will never be bored again!!

I’m sure my presents will be making an appearance on my blog over the next few months, but I must say everything is so inherently me! I’m touched.

Did you have a quiet or crazily wild holiday period? What did Santa bring? :)

Loves x xx
